Fire Station #7

REMINDER: On Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013  the Atlanta City Council will take a final vote to fund Fire Station #7 for renovations. We need you there to speak-up for the Fire Station. No votes are certain until they are cast.

In order to speak you need to be at Atlanta City Hall at 12:30 p.m. to sign in. The meeting will be held on the 2nd floor in the City Council Chambers located at 55 Trinity Avenue, SW Atlanta, GA. 30303.

Update on South Gordon Shooting…

Hello neighbors,

A few updates from Zone 4 concerning the shooting on South Gordon:

 – At this time they do not think it is related to previous shooting on South Gordon.

– The man who was shot was the homeowner.

– The investigators are working on leads and interviewing people that knew the victim.- His vehicle, a 2006 Range Rover, was stolen and has not turned up. Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for any information leading to the location of the vehicle. Tag number BIM9827.

– Please use caution, as always, when walking outside – especially after dark. Be aware of your surroundings.

– They will have updates tomorrow (Wednesday) at the NPU-T meeting. The meeting takes place at 7pm at 686 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd.

When incidents like this occur we are in close contact with Zone 4. I will continue to update the Yahoo group as we receive more information.

Atlanta BeltLine Running Club Launches Wednesday!

Announcing the Atlanta BeltLine Running Club!
Monthly Meets Kick Off This Wednesday, Feb. 22

The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership announces the Atlanta BeltLine Running Club, an opportunity for our fans to get moving and have some fun while you’re at it! Lead by Tes Sobomehin of RunningNerds, the Atlanta BeltLine Running Club will meet monthly at establishments around the Atlanta BeltLine. After a short run, we’ll head back to socialize and enjoy some refreshments.

The inaugural run is this Wednesday, Feb. 22nd. Meet us at Local Luna at 6:30 p.m. We’ll take off from there for a three-to-four mile run through several neighborhoods along the Atlanta BeltLine. After the run, we’ll meet up on the front patio, where Local Luna will provide free, healthy appetizers and beer. Stick around until 8 p.m. and you can take part in the free salsa lessons, too!

When: Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. – arrive between 6 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. to be sure you don’t miss the run!
Where: Loca Luna, 550-C Amsterdam Avenue, NE, Atlanta, GA
Cost: Free
